Heleno de Freitas film trailer
Not a biopic of the clumsy former Bolton striker, who shared the same surname, but a film devoted to Brazil’s first football superstar who married his ability on the pitch with his love of women, drink and drugs.
The film by José Henrique Fonseca and starring Rodrigo Santoro, charts his 209 goals for Botafogo in the 1940s to treatment in a sanatorium for advanced syphilis and addiction to ether in the following decade.
Enjoy this beautifully crafted trailer.
